Overview

A lovely and kind family on the Upper East Side of New York City are seeking a part-time to full-time second nanny for their 2 children, to start as soon as possible. The schedule will be Monday through Thursday, 2:15pm-7:45pm (22

hours) and Friday 8am-7pm (11 hours), for a total of 33 hours per week. There is an option to work Sundays from 9am-4pm or 11am-6pm. Additionally, there is potential to add hours during the week if the nanny is open to taking on more cleaning and organizational duties.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, Monday through Thursday, primarily picking up their 4-year-old son from school (via public transit or walking- school is within walking distance from home), taking him to afternoon activities, playground and play-dates, giving both kids dinner (sometimes prepped by the other nanny), bathing and bedtime for both children at times, cleaning up the kitchen, laundry, tidying the children’s play areas, and general full-charge care. On Friday, main responsibilities would be taking care of 7-month-old daughter for approximately 3 hours in the morning until the other nanny arrives, picking up the 4-year-old son from school, taking him to afternoon activities and play-dates, meal planning and prep for both children, bath, and bedtime. If weekend hours come into play, the nanny would need to be flexible to pitch-in with childcare, food prep for the household, and organizing and/or housekeeping depending on the particular weekend and needs. The idea would be to care for one of the children while the parents spend special one-on-one time with the other or in some cases care for both children while parents run errands. Being flexible and willing to pitch-in with household duties would be instrumental for the addition of weekend hours. Their ideal candidate will be a team-player who is passionate about childcare and child development, is active and engaging, is familiar with children’s meal planning and prep, and likes to keep a tidy home.

The family practices intentional/respectful parenting and would like someone who can thoughtfully set boundaries, be a sturdy leader, provide structure, and effortlessly put them at ease. The family spends time in Bellport during the Summer and willingness to travel or stay overnight is not required but would be a huge plus. The family is offering $30 to $35 per hour, an unlimited metro card, PTO, 9 paid holidays, and a $100 monthly medical stipend.
