Overview

HNW family seeking a full-time live-in or live-out housekeeper for a 6-story Upper East Side townhouse and Hamptons, New York home (for the Summer). You will join an existing staff with seamlessly maintaining the family's residences. The housekeeper should be reliable, flexible, and responsive to the family’s needs while remaining professional and discreet.

Responsibilities

• Cleaning and organizing
• Daily tidying
• Laundry and wardrobe management (washing, steaming, ironing, special care items)
• Assist with packing/unpacking for travel
• Care and maintenance of high-end furnishings and expensive antiques and decor
• Organization of closets and home office spaces
• Ability to cook simple family-style meals, including grocery shopping
• Inventory management of household supplies
• Running other errands as needed
• Pet care (cats)
• Work alongside second housekeeper to complete tasks
• Occasional serving of dinner
• Some child care (occasional pick-up from activities, night-time routine) - one child age 7

Qualifications

• 3 years of formal experience as a private housekeeper for a high-net-worth family
• Proficient in English and able to communicate easily (including via text)
• Excellent listening skills, discreetness, attention to detail
• Self-starter
• Fit (able to easily go up/down 6 flights of stairs)
• Tech-savvy (able to operate smart-home controls, order Ubers, and groceries online)
• Positive thinker, proactive, observant, pleasant, able to work independently
• Team mentality, able to be flexible as needed
• Uniform required (white polo, khaki, or black pants; the family will compensate for purchasing)

Requirements

• Legal to work in US
• Valid driver’s license with clean driving record
• Ability to travel both domestically and internationally a plus (valid passport)
• Must have verifiable references
• Must pass background check
• COVID vaccinated
• Able to accommodate schedule as outlined below:
  • School Year Schedule (September to June, Live-In or Live-Out):Monday through Thursday, 12pm – 9pmFridays, 9am – 5pm*If principals are going out, you must remain in residence after 9pm as the child will be sleeping in the home (the candidate is welcome to stay overnight Monday-Thursday if desired). If the principals are not going out, then you are welcome to return to your own home after 9pm Monday through Thursday.
  • Summer Schedule (mid-June to August, Live-In weekdays* and Driving Required)Monday through Thursday, 7am – 8pm (with a 2-hour mid-day break)Fridays, 7am – 12pm*You will travel to the summer residence Sunday night to be there for the early Monday morning start. You will then leave Friday at 12pm to travel back to your home

Salary and Benefits

• $90k, plus annual bonus
