Brinkmann Constructors is expanding its Project Controls team. We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Project Controls Engineer to join us in St. Louis, MO. This role is pivotal in supporting the project controls program and activities throughout the construction lifecycle, aligning with our company's commitment to quality and safety standards.

As a Project Controls Engineer, you will play a crucial role in our new Project Controls team. You will support the project controls program and activities throughout the entire construction lifecycle. Your meticulous analysis and knowledge of project controls will assist in assessing the submittal and RFI process, startup/closeout procedures, meeting guidelines, progress reporting, cost control, schedule management, training, and more

Responsibilities

  • Review and analyze contract management records, providing technical advice and project control guidance.
  • Assist in cost controls reporting and reconcile project cost reporting with guidance from the Project Controls Director.
  • Support scheduling processes, including bid phase, project schedule creation, monthly reporting, and schedule updates.
  • Assist in the integration of company systems to track, monitor, and control costs or schedule.
  • Ensure accurate training and utilization of approved systems for project document control and reporting.
  • Perform regular project reviews and monitor projects against key performance indicators (KPIs).
  • Coordinate with Operations and Finance teams to ensure adherence to standard operating procedures by project teams.
  • Maintain knowledge of the company's values and strategic plan.
  • Train Project Engineers and Assistant Project Managers on company standards, working with leadership to improve and refine standards.
  • Conduct meetings with Project Teams to audit processes, identify areas of improvement, and upskill our workforce.
  • Work with the Director of Project Controls on company initiatives and new process creation.
  • Drive continuous improvement by staying updated on industry best practices, tools, and technologies related to project controls.
  • Implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of cost management.
  • Generate reports and templates for Operations use on projects and/or at the Director level.
  • Use critical thinking skills to analyze processes and propose process or technology improvements.
  • Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in technical discipline, such as Building Science, Construction Management or Engineering
    • 2 years of proven experience as a Project Engineer or similar role within the construction industry.
    • Strong collaboration skills
    • Strong knowledge of project engineer roles and typical functions
    • Proficiency in Procore and Project Control Tools
    • Analytical mindset with excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse project teams.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously.
