Responsibilities

The Project Director oversees the planning, execution, and completion of multiple construction projects across a variety of different market sectors. They provide leadership to multiple project teams to ensure that all aspects of a project are completed on time, within budget, and to a high standard. Project Directors strategically manage risk, monitor finances, and ensure each phase of work is started and completed on time

Job Responsibilities:

  • Execute and enforce safety standards, processes, and procedures.
  • Direct all construction activities and administrative processes to ensure successful project planning, execution, and closure.
  • Lead client and project teams to ensure quality and timely execution of commercial projects from “concept-to-completion.”
  • Oversee contribution of the project management team including preconstruction services including conceptual estimating and bidding projects.
  • Review monthly status reports from project team.
  • Ensure all risk management controls are deployed and utilized.
  • Meet or exceed profit projections for each project.
  • Generate new business opportunities and maintain successful client relationships.
  • Understand and solve complex challenges to present alternative solutions.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Leadership Responsibilities:

  • Train, develop and manage project managers, superintendents and project engineers, including providing input on performance evaluations.
  • Provide ongoing mentoring, training, coaching and direction setting to project teams
  • Conduct quarterly check-ins and annual performance reviews for project teams
  • Participate in the interview process for Project Engineers, Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, Assistant/Punch Superintendents and Superintendents
  • Execute onboarding and training/development programs for new hires
  • Represent and promote Brinkmann Constructors on both the job site and within the community through involvement with industry and/or community associations. Serves on leadership boards as appropriate

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering (i.e. civil, architectural or construction), construction management or related field
  • 15 years’ project management experience in commercial construction. Prior conceptual estimating and bidding experience in commercial construction required.
  • Relevant experience supporting $20 million projects from conception to completion in diverse commercial market sectors including High-Rise, Multifamily/Student Housing, Senior Living, Large Box Industrial and Hospitality.
  • Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of construction principles/practices with the ability to understand and solve complex challenges to present alternative solutions.
  • Proven experience implementing safety protocols. A track record of successfully implementing and enforcing safety procedures on construction sites ensuring a secure work environment for project team.
  • Ability to walk the job site, climb ladders and scaffolding, lift loads up to 20 lbs.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proficiency with computer applications including Procore, Microsoft Office suite, and SharePoint.
  • Travel required.

Salary starts at $165,000 and up. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience.
