Terrific General Counsel position with a social and human services nonprofit in the New York City area. The General Counsel will be an integral member of the organization, serving as a strategic legal advisor to the executive team. Main areas of responsibility will include contract review, compliance, risk management and governance. The General Counsel will oversee the contract management process for agreements, leases, certificates of insurance, etc. This role will also research and implement a contract management system. The General Counsel will work closely with HR and Legal Services to provide legal and ethical oversight. The position will manage and mentor a team of two. Candidates should have approximately 7 years of related legal experience, including time in a supervisory role. Ideal candidates for this role will have experience working in-house at a nonprofit organization. J.D. and admission to the New York State Bar is required. This position currently operates on a hybrid schedule with two days in office. The salary range is $175,000 to $200,000 per year, with potential flexibility based on experience.
