POSITION: Maintenance Assistant
HIRING PAY RANGE: $19.00 – $20.00 DOE
DAYS: TBD *weekend availability required*
STATUS: Full Time
SHIFT: 6 am – 3 pm (with availability to come in once or twice monthly at 3 am)

We are a large-scale production bakery looking for a dependable and well-rounded individual to assist our maintenance manager. The ideal candidate will have flexible availability. The shifts will depend on the needs of the bakery, and may require nights, weekends, split shifts, overnights as some tasks can only be done at certain hours of the day.

The maintenance assistant will be responsible for all maintenance-related duties in and around the wholesale premises. This person will help with building maintenance and upkeep, doing things like pulling weeds, painting, cleaning drains, etc., with an emphasis on cleaning and sanitizing machinery inside the bakery.

Depending on departmental needs, the maintenance worker will prioritize tasks and work accordingly to accomplish all tasks in a timely manner per the maintenance manager’s request.

We are open 364 days a year, weekend and holiday availability are required.

Requirements:

• 1 year of experience in maintenance preferred.
• Awareness that product quality is the primary focus with an understanding of the importance of proper machine sanitation.
• Ability to follow instructions.
• Willingness to assist with any task that may arise.
• Strong interpersonal skills and effective communication skills.
• Must be a cooperative, considerate team member.
• Possesses an enthusiastic, polite, and friendly demeanor.
• Respect for coworkers and their property and tolerance of their viewpoints.
• Creative and flexible.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / WORKING CONDITIONS:

• Must be able to stand and/or walk for an entire shift.
• Must have sufficient strength to perform duties and responsibilities of the position including moderate to heavy lifting of 50 pounds regularly throughout shift along with ability to push and pull up to 100 pounds.
• Hand use: single grasping, fine manipulation, pushing and pulling.
• Work requires the following motions: bending, twisting, squatting, and reaching.
• Ability to use tools and equipment, including knives, box cutters, electric pallet jacks, and other heavy machinery.
• Exposure to high temperatures (working around ovens) as well as moderate temperatures (proofers).
