Position Title: Development Coordinator

Department: Development

Location: St. Louis, MO

Reports To: Development Director

FLSA Status: Hourly

When You Are Here:

● Full-Time

● 40 hours/week, Differing hours for events

● Four Ten Hour Shifts - Mon-Thurs, 8am-6pm, some evenings/weekends with flex

You Have

● Bachelor's degree 2 years experience in fundraising

● Previous experience with marketing, communications, writing, editing/proofreading, graphic design, print production, public relations preferred

● Time management, organizational skills and be detail-oriented

● Proactive, independent, self-starter with excellent customer service skills

● 3-5 years of volunteer/project management experience

● Administrative support experience with excellent communication, writing and listening skills

● Computer/Technology skills; preferable experience with Salesforce

● Finance/Accounting experience (accounts payable and receivables experience)

● Assists in the procurement of donations, silent auction items and in-kind items or services. Processes memorial donations. Assists in planning and executing direct mail campaign, and special events and other activities as requested. Work with system finance on check requests from restricted funds, and on 990 end of the year reporting. Develops and oversees production of appropriate fundraising activities as needed. Identifies, writes and/or coordinates proposals for corporate sponsorship of events. Evaluates current sponsorships and initiate new opportunities for sponsorships.

As our Development Coordinator, you'll bring your lived and professional experiences to the development department to help organize and administer fundraising and donor stewardship efforts for Boys Hope Girls Hope.

Your Influence

● Weekly engagement with the Development Director

● Daily updates and interaction with fellow team members

● Daily engagement with all departments

Bring Your Expertise

● Independent initiative in accurate and complete maintenance of donor database:

  • Entering gifts/pledges/GIK into database
  • Managing contact records
  • Gift Acknowledgements/tax letters
  • Report Generation

● Collaborate with bookkeeper/accountant to reconcile monthly.

● Create and manage campaigns in Salesforce

● Monitor status of donor pledges, prepare monthly invoices and renewal letters as needed to maintain continued donor support. Maintain all board files and minutes. Plan and coordinate board level meetings and retreats

● Gathering data/information from various sources for grant writing and reporting

● Managing Development Department calendar; confirming/assisting with scheduling appointments/meetings

● Monitor progress towards development overall and campaign goals

● Plans, develops, implements and organizes events and volunteers to advance the mission and goals of the organization

● Ability to interact professionally with donors, board members and senior staff with poise and discretion

● Ensures appropriate recognition for donors by preparing timely gift/pledge acknowledgements and maintaining accurate donor listings for recognition

● Coordinates records for bank, trust and investment accounts including wire transfers and related payments. Preparation of deposits and reconciliation with bank statements and departments
