Boys & Girls Club of Portage County is Hiring a Program Leader Near Almond, WI

Position Summary: Program Leaders are responsible for direct service to the club members, including facilitating program plans, club management, behavior management and facilities management. Program Leaders work closely with volunteers, director, and other organizational initiatives that support the mission of the Boys & Girls Club.

Responsibilities:
  • Plan & lead daily, weekly, and special event activities
  • Promote and stimulate program participation
  • Ensures that all programs meet core program standards
  • Ensure all activities and programs happen as scheduled
  • Ensure the proper number of club members participate in each program
  • Ensure all programs are safe & meaningful
  • Discipline policies are enforced during each program
  • Evaluate youth development programs
  • Track participation numbers for each activity/program daily
  • Assist the Director and Executive Director in collecting outcome data
  • Assist in program participation/time tracking
  • Participate in special programs and/or events
  • Attend field trips
  • Complete tasks assigned by the Director, or Site Coordinator
  • Encourage fellow staff to meet program goals, objectives, and outcomes
  • Participate in staff performance evaluations, staff meetings, and trainings
  • Follow and assist with the daily and weekly cleaning schedule
  • Maintain and assist in a clean, neat, and properly equipped program area
  • Ensure that the overall Club environment is safe and inviting for all Club Members
  • Encourages kids to assist in cleaning the Club

Qualifications:
  • Ability to be trained in First Aid/CPR
  • Prior experience working with children is preferred but not required
  • Communicate effectively with children and families from diverse backgrounds.
  • Courteous and professional to all staff, club members, and families.
  • Motivate youth and manage behavior problems
  • Work with the general public
  • Organize and supervise club members in a safe environment
  • Must be able to pass a reference check and background check
Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
  • Standing or walking for up to 8 hours a day
  • Pushing or lifting of up to 50lbs
  • Ability to handle high noise levels for extended periods of time.
