Title: Summer Youth Development Professional (YDP)
Reports To: Program Director
Rate: $15.00
Job Location: Naples or Immokalee
Job Summary
Assists and supervises children in various programs that cultivate positive relationships with all young people, especially those that need us most. The Youth Development Professional promotes and implements the delivery of exciting, engaging, age-appropriate games, physical fitness, and recreation programs and activities and incorporates youth development principles into activities and programs along with maintenance for supplies and equipment.
Key Responsibilities
· YDPs are creative and know how to add fun to all activities as they plan, implement, and deliver exciting and engaging programs and activities for youth ages 6-18.
· Ensure a healthy and safe environment, supervising members in the program area.
· Adhere to organizational policies and procedures in all programs.
· Assist in the development of program activities consistent with BGCCC standards.
· Monitor and/or supervise all activities, young people, and areas/locations as assigned.
· Administer first aid when needed and complete an incident report for any situation causing injury to a member or requiring a member to receive medical attention.
· Responsible at all times for each child present at the club. That is, to always be aware of what is happening around you for each member's safety and well-being.
· Performs other duties as assigned.
Experience & Qualifications
Experience -- One-year experience in the relevant working environment, preferred.
· High school diploma (or equivalent)
· Hours may vary
· Enjoy working with people and possess a friendly and outgoing personality.
· Must be a team player.
· Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
· Must possess the ability to work independently with little direct supervision.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may need to do the following:

· use hands to finger, handle or feel and reach with hands and arms
· use hands and finger coordination to write and type
· lift and move up to 25 pounds on occasion
· have the ability to use close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust focus
Education
Equivalent Education Level – High School Diploma; Bachelor's Degree, preferred.
