Offering traditional Mexican favorites as well as unconventional and innovative interpretations, Bodega specializes in tacos and tequila in a dynamic, eclectic puebla inspired setting. Disguised behind a meat locker door, the no-name speakeasy behind Bodega comes alive at night, serving up the best cocktails in an environment that brings the fabric of the community together artists and musicians, locals and travelers alike for late night conversation, performances and fun.

As a Barback, your primary duty and responsibility is to ensure that the bar is set and maintained so that the bar staff has everything it needs to run an effective operation, as well as maintaining the cleanliness of the outlet, running food, and set-up and breakdown of the bar. Provide friendly, courteous, and efficient quality presentation of food and beverage service to all guests.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Greet and engage with guests when operating on the premises.
• Accurately and safely handle alcoholic beverages and supplies within company and legal guidelines.
• Organize bar workstations including wells, displays, pour rails, counter tops and supply distributors.
• Maintain cleanliness of the bar area including floors, exterior surfaces, sinks, garbage bins, POS stations.
• Maintain stock levels of product in workstations, restrooms, and storage areas including coolers and dry storage.
• Sweep and mop the floors as needed, polish glassware, organize tabletopsupplies, and empty garbage bins as needed.
• Assist bar staff when needed.

SUPPORTIVE FUNCTIONS

In addition to performance of the essential functions, this position may be required to perform a combination of the following supportive functions, with the percentage of time performing each function to be solely determined by the manager based upon the particular requirements of the establishment.

• Perform set up duties as requested to include side stations, storage areas and food & beverage handling areas.
• Perform general cleaning tasks utilizing cleaning to adhere to health and safety standards.
• Maintain stock of consumable supplies including plates, napkins, and utensils.
• Participate in the deep cleaning of the outlet.
• Perform other duties as requested, such as cleaning unexpected spills and executing special guest requests.
