This position is the Manager over the construction Project Management team, supervising Senior Project Managers and Project Managers.

Minimum Qualifications 

• Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering; AND
• Greater than 10 years of post-registration as a Professional Engineer and/or 15 years of experience in construction management; AND
• Professional Engineer, registered in Florida; AND
• Florida driver's license.

Min $83,428.80 annually

Mid $117,416.00 annually

Duties and Responsibilities

Depending on assigned area of responsibility, incumbents in the position may perform one or more of the activities described below:

• Supervise Senior Professional Engineers and Professional Engineers, including assigning projects, Contracts, and Programs to responsible engineers and ensure all contract requirements are maintained. Perform complex section analysis for workload distribution and process controls ad distribution and process controls.
• Perform performance evaluations, including pre-planning and developing goals and objectives for engineering staff members, providing feedback to staff members on performance, and final performance evaluations.
• Responsible for the management the CIP construction stormwater and transportation contracts to ensure compliance with County, State, and Federal regulations for approximately $100 Million in contractor payments each year.
• Perform complex section reviews and analysis for large and small work programs and projects.
• Plan and prepare BOCC agenda items for construction related items.
• Ensure payment to contract vendors meets prompt payment per Florida Statutes.
• Other duties as assigned.

• Background Clearances required - Maintain the ability to pass the background checks required for the position. These background checks may include but are not limited to:
  • Criminal History Background Check using Florida Department of Law
  • Enforcement (FDLE) Criminal Justice Information Services {CJIS)
  • Level 1 and Level 2 Background screening (Ch. 435 Florida Statutes)
  • Child Abuse, Abandonment and Neglect Record Check using the State
  • Automated Child Welfare Information System (SACWIS)
  • Sex Offender and Sexual Predator record check

Physical Requirements 

• Primarily in normal office situation. 40 hours work week. 
•  Primarily sitting at a desk or table. Occasional week intermittent standing, walking or stooping.

Work Category 

• Sedentary Work – Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Emergency Management Responsibilities 

In the event of an emergency or disaster, an employee may be required to respond promptly to duties and responsibilities as assigned by the employee’s department, the County’s Office of Emergency Management, or County Administration. Such assignments may be for before, during or after the emergency/disaster.
