PRE-OWNED MOTORCYCLE SALES MANAGER
Bob’s Motorcycles is looking for a highly motivated individual to manage pre-owned motorcycle acquisitions and sales in our highly respected Motorcycle Sales Department.
Requirements:

  • At least 2 years sales and/or vehicle acquisition experience, preferably in powersports, retail, or automotive sales environments
Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and manage all operations of pre-owned motorcycle acquisitions, reconditioning, sales, and wholesale liquidations.
  • Promote, support and sell Bob’s Motorcycles and BMW / Ducati motorcycle products, pre-owned motorcycles (all brands), accessories, service, and events. 
  • Meet and exceed forecasted gross profit, volume, and customer satisfaction objectives. 
  • Build and maintain long-term, one-to-one relationships with customers, serving as the first point of contact between the customer and the dealership. 
  • Anticipate and advise customers of long-term vehicle ownership and service needs, and best practices as they apply to maintenance and safe riding techniques throughout the customer’s relationship with the dealership. 
  • Always be mindful of our Mission Statement to provide customers and team members with superior service. 
Primary Duties:
  • Acquire pre-owned motorcycles following established process and guidelines, which include: 
    • Proactively locate pre-owned vehicles for sale, contact owner, schedule evaluation, and perform Pre-Purchase Inspection (PPI) and evaluation. 
    • Complete evaluation process form to include condition & comparable retail value. 
    • Determine purchase price and present offer to seller/owner. 
    • Prepare delivery request for sales floor. 
    • Monitor and track unit status through the entire reconditioning process. 
    • Record and report acquisitions to GM for inventory & commission purposes. 
  • Follow acquisitions and trades through the entire reconditioning process. Strive to maintain a seven-day throughput of units from point of acquisition.
  • Maintain appropriate sales and reconditioning logs/history for all motorcycles acquired. 
  • Maintain balanced levels of inventory to proportionality support forecasts and sales. 
  • Work with other departments to establish procedures to ensure timely and proper completion of all files related to inventory and sales.
  • Demonstrate in-depth knowledge and enthusiasm for the motorcycles, accessories, apparel, and services of the dealership. 
  • Assume full responsibility for the entire sales process, including: 
    • Get to know the customer working in tandem with the Motorcycle Sales Advisor
    • Determine the best trade-in value via dealership guidelines; assist in providing a seamless sales experience for the customer. 
    • Close sales effectively, being profit-minded, with a keen understanding of motorcycle financing, ancillary insurance products, and services options. 
  • Support co-workers regarding customer needs and expectations to ensure the entire team is prepared to provide the highest level of service to our customers. 
  • Follow up with customers and prospects in support of their buying and service needs utilizing all supported methods of communication including telephone, text, email, letters, or customized brochures highlighting features and benefits. 
  • Maintain historical records, ensuring accurate data is reflected within the CRM to track vendor provided referrals, customer leads, visits, interactions, and sales. 
  • Follow up on leads generated by BMW, Ducati, our website, walk-ins, off-lease reports, service drive prospects, referrals, and aftersales. 
  • Maintain comprehensive knowledge of pricing and specifications of competitive brands to provide customers and coworkers with informative comparisons. 
  • Maintain factory, state, and dealership certifications and licenses. 
  • Periodically visit competitor’s websites and/or secret shop other brands to develop comparisons and contrasts between them and BMW and Ducati motorcycle models. 
  • Continue to build personal knowledge of BMW and Ducati motorcycle products and services. Maintain professional and technical expertise by on-the-job training, meeting with parts, accessories, and apparel staff, attending trade shows and educational programs, establishing a personal network, and reviewing industry publications. 
  • Assist in pricing by monitoring costs and supply and demand, and by gathering competitor information on pricing, new products, delivery schedules, merchandising techniques, etc. 
  • Assist in creating and implementing effective marketing strategies, advertising, and promotions to increase sales and profits by evaluating results and competitive developments. 
  • Help to plan, organize, and support special events and/or ride promotions to attract new prospects. Be mindful to adequate model and color mix for special events and promotions. 
  • Ensure that motorcycle and showroom displays are kept neat, clean, safe, and attractive, and that motorcycles are properly labeled. 
  • Exercise all used units and demos regularly to maintain ride-ability. 
  •  Other duties as requested.
