Job Description:
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Behavioral Health unit at Providence Portland Medical Center in Portland, Oregon. As an RN in our Behavioral Health department, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional patient care to individuals facing mental health challenges. This is a 16-week contract position, offering a night shift schedule of 3x12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:00.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' mental health status, including psychiatric history, current symptoms, and risk factors.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, including psychiatrists, therapists, and social workers.
• Administer medications and treatments according to physician orders and monitor patient response.
• Provide therapeutic interventions and support to patients and their families, fostering a safe and therapeutic environment.
• Document all patient interactions, assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely in the electronic medical record system (Epic).
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care and facilitate transitions between levels of care.
• Participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings, case conferences, and treatment planning sessions.
• Maintain professional knowledge and competence through ongoing education and training activities.

Qualifications:

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Oregon.
• Minimum of 1 year of recent experience in Behavioral Health nursing preferred.
• BLS certification required; ACLS certification preferred.
• Strong assessment, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
