Position Title: Credit Analyst II  
Reports To: Commercial Credit Underwriting Manager

Work Locations: Richmond, VA

FLSA Status: Non-Exempt

Position Purpose:

This position is responsible for underwriting commercial loans and assisting in the management of the Bank’s loan portfolio.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Properly analyze and underwrite commercial loan requests in a timely manner, including C&I and commercial real estate transactions
  • Properly analyze and underwrite residential loan requests for existing commercial relationships
  • Spread financial statements
  • Perform annual reviews and covenant testing per loan policy
  • Support loan officers and senior credit officers as needed with ad hoc reporting, portfolio information, and pre-approval screening 
  • Perform other administrative and research duties, as requested.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or equivalent work experience

Skills:

  • Three (3) years of experience in commercial banking.
  • Strong computer skills relevant to Microsoft Office Suites (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.).
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong decision-making/problem resolution skills.
  • Demonstrate strong analytical and math skills, organizational skills, and customer service skills.
  • Effective verbal and written skills to effectively communicate in the English language required.
  • Experience within Banking or similar field.

Abilities:

  • Ability to learn bank programmed software.
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with accounts while providing exceptional customer service.
  • Ability to work all branch hours, remote or in office, including weekend and evenings.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals, general business correspondence, and/or journals, or government regulations. 
  • Ability to deal directly with the public, on the phone or face to face, following the Bank’s Customer Service Standards.
