This role is part of the Blue Origin Engines business unit, where our focus is the design, development, manufacturing and testing of engines and propulsion systems. Built for multiple uses, our family of engines is powering the next generation of rockets for commercial, civil, national security and human spaceflight.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Learn and become proficient at fundamental operation of ignition devices: exciter high voltage power conversion, high voltage leads (corona containment), and fundamentals of spark plug operation.
• Become expert at processing/documenting non-conforming development issues.
• Support engine ignition product qualification efforts performed at Blue. This includes writing work orders, facilitating testing and providing associated documentation.
• Write/execute work orders as necessary.
• Support engine electrical ignition development. Contribute to integration of ignition components during the qualification phase.
• Resolve issues with material flow from subcontracted ignition vendors and drive test related issues to resolution.
• Engage and resolve manufacturing issues with contracted manufacturing partners.

Minimum Qualifications:

• BS EE or related field (possibly Computer Engineering, Physics)
• 2 years experience in analog electronics, especially power conversion circuits.
• Knowledge of fundamental digital electronics
• Expertise in popular Electronic CAD packages (schematic entry, simulation)
• Hands-on lab debug skills. Proficient at utilizing lab equipment and making measurements
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum

Preferred Qualifications:

• MS EE
• Experience with Aerospace electronic development is a plus
• Exposure to designing safety or critically important aerospace flight hardware aligned with DO-254
• Circuit board layout experience
