Your mission, should you choose to accept it, will be to work directly with the owners on a daily basis to uphold the standard people have grown to love and expect when dining at The Black Rooster Bistro. Our ideal candidate is someone who has a passion for cooking and are looking to grow in our business as well as the restaurant industry.

Black Rooster Bistro is looking to add a Sous Chef to our team. We are located in the lower level of the historic opera house at 516 2nd Street in downtown Hudson.

Responsibilities

• Help train and develop chefs to company standards
• Help create new dishes for menus in accordance with business needs
• Anticipate ingredient needs and arrange re-stock accordingly
• Ensure a productive kitchen flow that upholds business standards
• Weekly ordering and receiving along with proper food rotation.

Qualifications

• Experience working as a kitchen lead or sous chef
• High familiarity with kitchen equipment, processes, and health and safety guidelines
• Able to delegate tasks effectively and assist when needed
• Adaptable to high traffic and kitchen volume
