Black Hills Energy is Hiring a Business Development Representative Near Cheyenne, WY

Job Specifications

Develops and implements strategies that achieve growth objectives. Responsible for proactive lead generation, customer recruitment, and sales activities. Facilitates the evaluation of opportunities outside of downstream distribution activities. Supports the identification and development of energy solutions that meet the unique and evolving needs of our customers.

Pay Range: $92,500 - $152,450 (Determined by the knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant.)

Reporting Relationship: Business Development Manager

Location: This position may be located in Cheyenne, Cody, or Douglas Wyoming.
Relocation assistance is available based on individual circumstances! Details to be shared during the offer process.

Essential Functions:

* Support the development of enterprise growth strategies and execute enterprise and state based, customer centric growth plans.
* Deliver new margin and operating income growth through proactive customer recruitment.
* Drives growth by analyzing market conditions and monitoring for opportunities to expand to new customers/markets or solutions.
* Utilize industry research and customer trends to lead the development of new regulated and non-regulated services and programs.
* Develops and leverages internal and external partnerships to enhance growth outcomes.
* Supports deal structure and complex negotiations with new customers for services.
* Manage proposal response process, including RFP requirements and inputs from various sources.
* Utilize complex problem-solving processes to develop new and innovative approaches to business growth in the energy industry.

Additional Responsibilities:

* Partner with strategic account managers on customer retention and expansion opportunities to maximize growth and earnings potential.
* Partner with key internal stakeholders to develop and implement growth plans.
* Provides project management leadership and supports integration activities.

What You'll Need:

* Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, marketing or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience
* Minimum of five (5) years of project management business development, sales, engineering, finance or deal execution/integration experience.

What Is Desired Or Can Be Taught:

* Proven sales ability and motivation to drive results.
* Experience with negotiation and the ability to mitigate risk related to business development agreements.
* Proven success in project management and execution.
* Ability to quickly analyze issues, prepare comprehensive analysis and recommend solutions and alternatives for identifying/solving specific issues.
* Ability to highlight opportunities and provide clear communication to a broad audience that will assist in driving change.
* Strong business acumen and ability to analyze data to address customer situations.
* Ability to think and act commercially by constantly evaluating current market, customer and industry dynamics to originate new growth opportunities.
* Excellent interpersonal skills, team building, and employee development skills.
* Ability to indirectly influence to keep projects moving in a timely and efficient manner.
* Strong verbal and written communication skills.
