The Barnes-Jewish Hospital Cardiac Diagnostic Lab provides non-invasive diagnostic services to inpatient and outpatient populations in conjunction with our partners, Washington University Physicians. The department provides the following services to our patients: Transthoracic Echocardiograms (TTE), Transesophageal Echocardiograms (TEE), Stress Echocardiograms, Nuclear Stress Tests, Treadmill Exercise Stress Tests, Event and Holter Monitors and EKG Processing.

Role Purpose

Functions as a specialty resource in one of the five following areas: Adult Congenital Heart Defects (ACHD), School Liaison and Preceptorship, Transesophageal Echocardiography (TEE), Research, and 3D TTE. Performs a variety of cardiac testing, including any advanced protocols for specified specialty area. Functions as a resource for other sonographers/staff in the Cardiac Diagnostic Lab and serves as a liaison between the lab, physicians and others relevant to resource specialty. Assists leadership with the coordination, training, implementation, and maintenance of any necessary duties, processes, and protocols relevant to resource specialty.
