A leading global alternative asset manager seeks VicePresident, Relationship Manager of the Japan Focus Team in New York to coverinstitutional investors in Japan.The RMwill be responsible for sales of the firm’s various asset classes, includingcredit (direct lending, liquid and structured credit), private equity, infrastructureand real estate.

• Primary responsibilities include:·Cultivate and manage business relationships withthe investor community and intermediaries. Focus on new business generationactivities to increase penetration across channels.·Actively participates in sales planning and helpsdrive marketing strategy execution.Research and define competitive market requirements and opportunities,develop and execute on strategic plans for his/her target market.·Builds and maintains long term rewardingrelationships with existing clients.·Works with Product Management and InvestorRelations team to generate customized materials for investors.·Keeps abreast of industry trends and Aresproduct development and performance to provide market information updates andtrend analysis to clients and colleagues.·Respond to investor inquiries and data requests·Tracks client contacts and meetings withinvestors and potential investors through the CRM system, Salesforce.·Provides additional leverage as needed to leadmarketer in the region·

Requirements

• BA Finance or Business Degree preferred
• Language: Fluency in Japanese and English
• Network of professional contacts in theinstitutional investment community and a track record of navigating in thevarious institutional channels.Experience covering asset managers and trust banks preferred.
• 5-7 years of marketing / sales experiencepreferably with buy side shops - ideally with exposure to various alternativeasset classes including, private equity, infrastructure and real estate.
• Previous role in sales for Asset Management Firm/ Alternative Investments preferable.
