Quanta Search is Hiring a Product Manager/BA for a leading asset management firm Near New York, NY
The ideal candidate will have worked as a business analyst, within the Financial Services industry. Primary responsibilities will entail overseeing all front-end applications with a concentration on proprietary business intelligence tools. The Product Manager will lead a team of two employees and oversee an external development team to facilitate the planning, completion, and delivery of development initiatives. This role will report to the Managing Partner and primary stakeholders will include business subject matter experts (Investment Management, Risk Management, Operations), Developers, and the Quality Assurance team. Specific responsibilities include: • Sprint iteration planning, spec building, collaborative design, user empathy, and strategic analysis • Lead meetings with multiple stakeholders to identify and prioritize software development and business improvement initiatives • Integrate with geographically distributed team and be able to work together towards the success of the deliverables • Daily updates with Product Team focusing on workshopping ‘stories’ to ensure developers and QA engineers understand the business requirements and the desired end user experience • Creating test scenarios, UAT, and software candidate validations prior to candidate release • Daily cross-functional support on all project stakeholder levels as the ‘application owner’ – this includes development & QA, technology release team, and business owners • Provide level 1 support on escalated production issues to ensure understanding and planning resolution • Regularly updating business owners to ensure requirements are being met and that users understand the product and are aware of project progress and released features • Awareness and monitoring of industry trends that may impact prioritization of software development • Working with System Architect (direct report) in securing proper daily data flow • Working with Product Specialist (direct report) in creating, publishing, and delivering training materials and documentation to ensure education and knowledge transfer • Demos/presentations to internal and external stakeholders Requirements • Ability to prioritize ‘user stories’ and clearly translate requirements to development team • 5 years’ experience working within the financial services industry; prior experience with a hedge fund, hedge fund administrator, or related finance field is a plus • Familiarity with investment risk systems preferred • Previous experience with dashboards or other types of data visualizations (Power BI, Tableau, or similar) • Ability to read programming languages (Python, R) • Agile, scrum, or other experience with SDLC • Strong time management and multi-tasking skills • Strong communication and documentation skills
