Job Title: Strategic Sourcing Manager

Position Summary:

Are you a dynamic negotiator and indirect people leader with a passion for creating strategic supplier relationships returning positive improvements to material costs? Ideal candidate strives to think and plan strategically across multiple supplier types, collaborate with management teams and establish meaningful supplier relationships that delivers measurable, cost-effective results for our life science clients.

You will be responsible for leading long-term sourcing agreements for the Minneapolis and St. Paul campus accounting for the largest sight spend within Bio-Techne. Teir 1 supplier agreements may also be applicable to all Bio-Techne manufacturing and distribution sights in the U.S.; there are no direct reports, so cross-functional collaboration and in-direct leadership and influence will be required for success.

Reporting the Sr. Director of Operations, this highly visible and critical role supports our fast-growing business. The role will focus on the strategic approach to ensure sustainable and cost-effective flow of material and services, including Tier 1 and 2 suppliers.

Duties/Responsibilities:

• Create and deploy the supply strategic sourcing strategy for people, process and technology across supported Business Units.
• Responsible for negotiation and drafting strategic supply agreements.
• Work directly with Sr. Director, Operations; Sr. Director, Supply Chain and collaboratively with sourcing teams at other U.S. locations that can leverage buying power for all Bio-Techne locations.
• Partner with Bio-Techne Legal team on all suppler agreements.
• Partner with Bio-Techne QA on Supplier Performance Management (scorecards, audits, verification)
• Learn global economic trends and commodity market intelligence.
• Foster relationships with strategic suppliers.
• Deploy best in class processes and metrics to support business growth and delight our customers.
• Communicate with other departments within the organization to identify efficiency issues, develop solutions, and implement changes.
• Support data analysis needed for strategic supplier analysis.
• Gather data on each step within the supply chain, using it to recommend changes to reduce costs.
• Actively pursue cost savings opportunities
• Evaluate and alert the internal team about supply risk. Propose and execute action plans to mitigate.
• Hands on working knowledge of forecasting and budgeting.
• Other duties and tasks assigned to support NPI and Supplier Quality.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, logistics, business management or related fields.
• Supply chain management certification is preferred.
• 10 years’ experience in life sciences or medical device supply or strategic sourcing management supporting manufacturing environments is a must.
• Proven success in achieving contractual agreements with reduced operating costs.
• Experience analyzing business improvement.
• Excellent negotiation and analytical skill.
• Interpersonal skills and ability to build and improve trusting relationships.
• Attention to details and analysis accuracy and commit to completion dates.
• Ability to build key cross-functional relationships and partner with internal Counsel.
