A Day in the Life

In this role you will be a key member of Medtronic’s center-led Indirect Supply Management (ISM) team and you will be responsible for managing and influencing professional services spend (Consulting, IT services, Legal Services). This is a global role that give you the opportunity to partner with stakeholders across many functions, regions and businesses to drive value. You will report to the Global Indirect Supply Management Leader for Professional Services. Strong business acumen and prior sourcing experience is a must as you will be called upon to independently negotiate complex consulting engagements with strategic partners.

As the Associate Sourcing Specialist – Global Supply Chain, you will:

  • Enable identification and creation of Cost Savings / Avoidance / WCI opportunities (value) across the entire $1B Global Supply Chain portfolio for Distribution & Logistics related Categories (Transportation, Warehousing & Trade-Operations) by performing Spend Analytics / In/External Market Analysis.

  • Work collaboratively and pro-actively to build strategic relationships with Global ISM_GSC Peers, internal stakeholders and external partners

  • Support the Development and implementation of (Global) Category Sourcing Strategies that result in a sustainable competitive advantage

  • Support supplier relationship management (Partner Value Creation) activities.

  • Enable and achieve year on year value improvements for all aspects of service, innovation, and cost

  • Support (Global) RFx events resulting into robust commercial agreements and smooth implementation.

  • Support strategic contract negotiations for large scale engagements with our 3rd Party Supply Chain partners

  • Advise ISM_GSC Sourcing Category Leaders and internal stakeholders with a balanced view of commercials, contract risk and liabilities

  • Gather market intelligence and industry trends in the Global Supply Chain space

  • Recommend solutions to business challenges and identify opportunities for improvement

  • Support and/or actively educate and train Internal Stakeholders on key indirect supply management initiatives and policies

  • Bring forth a mindset of continuous improvement

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelors degree required

  • 0 years of experience required

Nice to Have

  • Relevant experience through internships and/or working in a Supply Chain environment

  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills and ability to drive actionable insights from data

  • Growth mindset, passion, curiosity grit; Must demonstrate a strong desire to learn from every opportunity and be flexible

  • Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization

  • Strong interpersonal & communication skills

  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint

  • Familiar with Jaggaer and Ariba Guided Buying

  • Commercial Acumen

  • Indirect Strategic Sourcing experience preferred, however will consider candidates date with Supply Chain experience
