Position Overview:
The VP of Sales for Returnable Packaging is a senior leadership role responsible for driving sales strategies, revenue growth, and market penetration for returnable packaging solutions. This position demands a strategic thinker with proven expertise in sales management, customer relationship building, and a comprehensive understanding of the returnable packaging industry.
The VP of Sales for Returnable Packaging plays a pivotal role in shaping the company's sales strategies and driving revenue growth through effective leadership, market insights, and customer-focused solutions.
Job Responsibilities:
Sales Strategy and Planning:
  • Develop and execute a comprehensive sales strategy aligned with company objectives to drive revenue growth.
  • Create sales plans, forecasts, and budgets in collaboration with the executive team.
  • Identify key market segments and develop targeted sales initiatives to maximize opportunities.
Team Leadership and Management:
  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing sales team, providing guidance and support to achieve sales targets.
  • Recruit, train, and develop sales personnel to ensure a competent and motivated workforce.
  • Foster a positive and collaborative team culture focused on achieving sales excellence.
Customer Relationship Management:
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with key customers, understanding their needs and offering tailored solutions.
  • Drive initiatives to enhance customer satisfaction, retention, and loyalty.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop effective promotional strategies and campaigns.
Market Analysis and Business Development:
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, competitor activities, and market shifts to identify opportunities and potential threats.
  • Explore and develop new business opportunities, partnerships, and markets to expand the company's footprint.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to support product development and sales strategies.
Performance Monitoring and Reporting:
  • Establish key performance metrics and regularly assess sales team performance against targets.
  • Provide detailed sales reports and analysis to the executive team, offering insights and recommendations for improvement.
  • Implement systems for tracking sales metrics and adjusting strategies as needed.
Collaboration and Cross-functional Leadership:
  • Collaborate closely with other departments such as operations, finance, and product development to ensure alignment of sales strategies with overall company objectives.
  • Foster a collaborative environment, promoting communication and cooperation across departments.
Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Sales, Marketing, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Proven experience (10 years) in sales leadership roles within the returnable packaging or related industry.
  • Strong track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to analyze market trends and develop actionable plans.
  • Proficient in CRM software and sales analytics tools.
  • Ability to travel as needed.
  • Independent; self-motivated/confident, team-orientated, can follow instructions, good attendance, leadership ability, decision maker, meet deadline.
  • Understanding of tools required to produce product.
  • Work accurately, with attention to detail, and be able to detect defects.
  • PC Skills; Word, Excel, Email, Internet, networking awareness
  • Communication Skills; customer service skills, and presenting information.
Abilities:
  • Speak, read, and write in the English language.
  • Stand, Walk, and reach with arms, hands, and fingers.
  • Lift, carry, push, pull items up to 45 pounds, and occasionally up to 60 pounds.
  • Basic Math; count, add, and subtract.
  • Operate Office Machines & Equipment.
