Supervised by: Counseling and Support Services Manager

Classification: Full-Time, Non-Exempt

Between Friends provides a safe, supportive and empowering environment for individuals and families in crisis. Between Friends' counselors and advocates empower individuals to make their own decisions and choices, rather than making choices for them. To address domestic violence as a community issue, Between Friends offers comprehensive prevention programs to educate youth and adults about the dynamics of healthy and unhealthy relationships and how to prevent domestic violence before it begins. POSITION SUMMARY

The Clinical Case Manager is responsible for providing crisis intervention support on Between Friends’ hotline, coordinating services and referrals for clients, maintaining agency resources, conducting intakes for Between Friends’ programs, and maintaining and growing our partnerships in the community. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

Program (65%)

• Receives, routes, and responds to calls from survivors of domestic violence and others seeking support and assistance.
• Provides callers with information, emotional support, safety planning, and referrals.
• Screens, schedules, and enrolls potential clients into the Counseling & Support Services Program
• Helps survivors of domestic violence to understand their rights and the legal remedies available to them under Illinois Domestic Violence Act
• Assists clients in filing for victim’s compensation
• Provides outreach to the community, including identifying and developing partnerships with local organizations.
• Provides childcare as needed
• Collaborates with agency staff and clients to develop and participate in program events.
• Works collaboratively with partner organizations to secure appropriate services and referrals for clients of Between Friends.
• Coordinate services and referrals to and from Health care Behavioral health
• Provides accompaniment for clients to appointments if schedule permits and if accompaniment is deemed appropriate and clinically therapeutic for clients
• Makes legally required mandated reporter calls, following consultation with supervisor, when necessary

Administrative (35%)

• Maintains case documentation/client files and submits necessary information to the Counseling and Support Services Manager for statistical reporting
• Updates and maintains agency resource referral guide
• Maintains hotline calls log
• Works with the counseling team to coordinate and find placement for new client referrals.
• Creates new, and maintains existing, partnerships with partner organizations
• Coordinates with partner agencies to make external referrals and ensure that services requested are provided to Between Friends clients. 
• Works with the court advocacy team to coordinate services with potential clients
• Tracks relevant program information on a regular basis, enters data in infonet database, and makes sure monthly reporting is submitted accurately.
• Participates in regular individual and group supervision. 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

• This position provides direct services virtually and on-site at the agency's main office. The position may provide services at community partner sites or Chicago Public Schools, as needed.
• This position operates primarily in a professional office environment that is not fully accessible.
• This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, scanners, filing cabinets, and fax machines
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear

Requirements

EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS:

? Bachelor’s degree in Social or Behavioral Sciences field preferred

? Previous experience in domestic violence services or advocacy preferred

? PC literate with experience in word processing

? Bilingual Spanish/English strongly preferred
