Marketing & Events Manager

Ben’s Bells teaches individuals and communities about the positive impacts of intentional kindness and inspires people to practice kindness as a way of life.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Executive Director, the Marketing & Events Manager will spearhead marketing efforts to promote education and studio programs, special events, merchandise, fundraising days, appeals, and all other items as they arise. The Marketing & Events Manager will help to coordinate efforts across all four studios and will work closely with the Director of Development & Outreach on all Development efforts. The ideal candidate will have strong marketing and event management experience. 

Responsibilities:

Events

• Serve as the lead on planning and executing our yearly event, Celebration of Kindness (CKD), including meeting regularly with the volunteer committee
• Manage other events throughout the year including planning, scheduling, creating ticket forms, confirmation emails, marketing materials, sales reports, post-event debrief, and advertisements as needed
• Create media kits for all programs and events 
• Coordinate Marketing effort via social media, press contacts, and community partners

Marketing

• Create, manage, and execute an annual strategic marketing plan
• Work alongside department heads to develope and manage annual marketing and print budget
• Manage website updates and be the lead on all website projects including Kind Campus and Kind Colleagues programs
• Understand and utilize Google Analytics data
• Maintain online listings for all four locations 
• Use creative thinking, collaboration, and data insights when creating a  marketing strategy for all events and appeals
• Oversee bidding, purchasing, and ordering of collateral, print, and promotional
• Track and report metrics and trends with strategic analysis and recommendation, including monthly dashboards
• Manage style and brand guidelines
• Photograph and film as needed
• Work with the Director of Retail to brainstorm and design new products to be sold in Shop Kind
• Create signage, logos, brochures and other marketing material for all departments and locations
• Work with the Development department to implement new initiatives
• Drive the implementation and optimization of paid advertising and social strategy
• Write, edit, and distribute content for digital marketing campaigns (email newsletters, social media, website landing pages, and digital ads)
• Oversee organization's digital analytics and set, monitor, and report on campaign results
• Craft and write emails to support organization via Constant Contact
• Monitor all marketing/media email addresses
• Manage marketing intern

Public Relations

• Responsible for maintaining social media presence  across all channels (Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok, and Instagram) and serve as a resource for remote studios’ social media efforts
• Represent the organization in the community as needed
• Work with the Executive Director to develop and manage organization-wide communications plans, marketing initiatives, and other department/site plans

Essential Skills and Abilities

• Personal qualities of kindness, integrity, credibility, and commitment to the mission of Ben’s Bells
• Demonstrated excellence with time management and communication skills
• Must be comfortable speaking with media and community groups
• Ability to manage multiple projects independently and simultaneously

Qualifications

• A minimum of five years of experience in marketing
• Nonprofit experience a plus
• Available for occasional early morning, evening, and weekend activities

• Bilingual skills helpful, but not required

• High level of proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign) and Microsoft Office Suite
• Experienced in video editing and motion graphics (Premiere and After Effects) helpful but not required
• Proficient with WordPress website
