Position: Community Events Manager
Salary: Grade 106 ($48,566.49 - $60,708.12)
Location: 3003 S. Country Club Road
Reports to: Chief Development Officer
Function: is responsible for the development, implementation and evaluation of community event activities related to special events, community engagement outreach activities, food drives and fund drives. This position oversees all strategy, tasks, execution, and coordination of the CFB’s community events including cultivating donors and securing sponsorships, ensuring staffing, developing educational, marketing, and promotional campaigns, budgeting revenues and expenses for profitability and managing logistics.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Provide leadership in the design and execution of community events focused on cultivating relationships, increasing community engagement, education, revenue, and donated food for third party events and food/fund drives. Ensure success of signature events. Strategically manage team workload.
- Manage all aspects of operations and logistics of third party and food/fund drives including managing requests/scheduling and maintaining accurate donor records. Work collaboratively with volunteer services, operations, marketing, and donor relations teams to ensure that logistics, participant recruitment, engagement, and fundraising tools are optimized.
- Raise awareness of the Community Food Bank brand and mission through community events. Develop promotional strategies as appropriate in conjunction with the donor services, marketing, and volunteer services.
- Proactively seek out partnership opportunities for event participants, volunteer leadership and sponsorships as well as cost savings such as in-kind partnerships. Develop systems for recruiting, training, acknowledging, and retaining donors, participants, and volunteers. Manage Community Engagement VISTA, volunteers, and intern(s).
- Prepare and track income and expense budgets for community events. Work collaboratively with the donor services and finance teams to ensure accurate recording. Develops and coordinates post-event evaluation process to include return on investment analysis to ensure continued success of third-party events and food / fund drives. Report updates to senior staff and regarding event evaluation.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Other Duties:
- Represent the organization at third party events, including but not limited to Chamber / Council events, as needed and work with Community Connectors to ensure volunteer support, engagement, and training.
- Serve as Feeding America National Office liaison on national initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Community Engagement and/or Chief Development Officer.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in related field and/or 3 years’ experience in special events, community engagement or related area
- For insurance purposes, must be at least 21 years of age
- Current and valid Arizona Driver License
- Three (3) years clean driving record.
- Experience managing and motivating volunteers and working with event committees
- Ability to travel as well as some evening and weekend work.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with a variety of personalities and leadership styles
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong computer skills, experience in Microsoft Suite and Internet based communications.
Physical Requirements:
- Medium Work - which involves lifting no more than 50 pounds at a time with frequent lifting or carrying of objects weighing up to 25 pounds. If someone can do medium work, we determine that he or she can also do sedentary and light work.
