Description

Summary/Objective 

The Accountant performs a variety of simple to moderately complex bookkeeping and accounting tasks related to the preparation and maintenance of financial reports and the general ledger for multiple companies. The work requires knowledge of accounting principles, Microsoft Office applications, and the ability to learn accounting and proprietary software systems. This person must perform a considerable amount of analysis and reporting, use independent judgment, and possess self-motivation. 

Essential Functions

• Manage all of the monthly transactions leading to the month end closing process. This includes processing payables, invoicing, making deposits, etc.
• Audit and reconciliation of general ledger accounts including but not limited to cash, accounts receivable, prepaids, fixed assets, gift cards, payables, deferred revenue, etc.
• Make all month end postings and perform financial statement preparation in coordination with CFO. 
• Ability to assist with inventory counts and recording cost of goods sold.
• Assist with the budget process for multiple companies.
• Ensure revenue is recognized accurately.
• Extract revenue data from numerous third-party vendors, format, reconcile and upload into Intacct for further processing.
• Responsible for maintaining compliance with all applicable local, state and federal rules and regulations as it relates to duties and responsibilities; including, but not limited to the remittance of sales taxes for all entities.
• Performs all other duties as requested or directed to ensure the continued function of all locations and the organization.

Requirements

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Fluent in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word, Excel 
• Sage Intacct experience preferred
• Retail experience a plus
• Revel experience a plus
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize
• Exceptional work ethic, fast learner, detail oriented
• Time flexibility to work weekends and nights as requested or demands of the position requires
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Maintain a professional appearance and positive image
• Ability to work with a team that is remote

Education and Experience

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance or a related field and a minimum of five (5) years of experience performing professional level accounting work; or any equivalent combination of training and experience which provides the required competencies to perform the job. 

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Typical days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, but hours could vary according to business needs.
