Accounts Payable Clerk

Purpose

The purpose of this job is to perform all aspects of Accounts Payable in accordance with current accounting policies and procedures of Bellmont Cabinets.

Key Responsibilities

• Review all invoices in the digital document retention software for OCR accuracy and correct G/L coding.
• Monitor invoices in process to ensure they are posted in the correct period and approved on time.
• Print checks and create EFT payment files for vendors based on due date and or discount date to in order to consistently pay each invoice within the “terms” of that vendor.
• Make payments on vendor websites for designated vendors.
• Communicate with vendors via email and phone to reconcile any discrepancies based on statement review.
• Reconcile Company credit cards via Concur
• Setup new vendors when necessary in a timely manner.
• Keep vendor payment files meticulously organized at all times.

• Knowledge, or information, required to accomplish the purpose of the job includes the understanding of general accounting practice for accounts payable.
• The ability to communicate and the skill of being proactive to resolve discrepancies are also required.
• The ability to interpret standard accounting practices in accordance with Bellmont’s specific practices is required.

Required Education/Experience

• 2 Years working in accounting and performing Accounts Payable functions
• Associate’s degree in accounting is preferred, but not required.
