Greater Lakes Mental Healthcare is seeking an Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to care for clients enrolled in outpatient behavioral health services. Join a collegial team based office practice with robust support staff. Provide outpatient psychiatric services to a diverse client panel in a Nurse Practitioner led clinic. Greater Lakes Mental Healthcare is a member the MultiCare Behavioral Health Network which is the largest provider of behavioral health services in the state of Washington. Job Description: Psychiatric ARNP - Outpatient Services in Lakewood, WA Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioners (ARNP’s) provide psychiatric evaluation, medication management, and follow-up to clients in an office-based setting. They also provide consultation to mental health clinicians related to medication issues for mutual clients. This position needs to practice flexibly within the multi-disciplinary team. Knowledge and Skills Needed: Expert knowledge of medications. Experience in community psychiatry. Expertise with adult and geriatric clients, and/or children. Experience with severely and persistently mentally ill consumers. Ability to work well with a multi-disciplinary staff. Basic computer and keyboard skills. Should possess excellent assessment, evaluation, and clinical skills. Experience with behavioral health care accreditation standards is desirable. Education and/or Experience: This position requires a WA State Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner (ARNP) license with prescriptive authority, Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) license with schedule 2 – 5 endorsement, and American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC) certification as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) or retired certifications in adult, child, or family psychiatry. A minimum of two years’ experience with severely and persistently mentally ill consumers and experience in a community mental health center is preferred. Experience with adults and geriatric clients is required. Experience with co-occurring disorders and/or with children is preferred. RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provides care following established Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner objectives and standards
Ensures that all safety and infection control practices are followed
Prescribes and documents medications (including scheduled medications) according to established standards and regulations
Responds to emergency situations
Ensures that required documentation is complete and is in compliance with regulations and standards
Communicates with clients and families regarding treatment and care
QUALIFICATIONS:
ARNP Licensure as described in position description
Two years of experience as an Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioner working with adults with severe and persistent mental illness is preferred
Experience working in an inpatient psychiatric setting is preferred
Knowledge of major mental illnesses and common psychotropic medications
Excellent computer and Microsoft Office skills
Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC) certification
Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP)
