Description

Bay City Electric Works is looking for a Rental Sales Executive/Technician who will developing and grow BCEW’s Generator Power rental market in the greater Bay Area/Sacramento area.

The Role

Our Northern California Rental Sales Executive/Technician will identify, research, and contact prospective customers to build positive relationships that will generate future rental sales and repeat business. This individual will quote rental equipment, resourcing re-rented equipment and outside hauling as needed. As we build the business in this region, they’ll also deliver and pick up equipment to our customers, building enough business to allow us to hire a full-time Rental Technician/Driver for the region.

Daily responsibilities include the following:

  • Assess customer and prospect needs, prepare quotes, and coordinate the proper rental equipment for customers
  • Seek to develop new business through identifying prospects, making phone calls, organizing sales visits and other activities
  • Perform rental technician responsibilities such as delivery, pick-up, fueling, field services, check-in and check-out equipment, inventory equipment, troubleshoot and repair equipment
  • Maintain relationships with customers by providing support, information, and guidance; researching and recommending new opportunities; recommending profit and service improvements
  • Deliver direct customer support: technical support, product specifications, model numbers, and pricing; Provide problem solving & resolution for all customer issues
  • Prepare call reports and other reports and keep rental database updated with new rental business contacts, quotes, and rental sales information
  • Act as Administrative On-call representative for Rental team on a rotating basis (one week every three weeks) during after hours and weekend period.
  • Maintain thorough knowledge of industry products and rental sales information
  • Attend training events, trade exhibitions, industry conferences, and meetings

Required Skills and Experience:

  • 2 - 5 years Rental Equipment Industry and/or related Sales Experience
  • Generator and diesel engine and alternative fuel knowledge, preferred
  • Excellent customer relations skills
  • Basic understanding of Electrical concepts, preferred, to allow for estimating power generation needs
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business documents, including articles, technical guides, governmental contracts, project bid documents, plans, and spec sheets
  • Ability to write reports and business correspondence
  • Ability to present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, customers, vendors, and the public
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, and volume
  • Flexible Team Player; Comfortable speaking up and bring new ideas to the team
  • Ability to meet deadlines and make critical decisions in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
  • Ability to multi-task and set priorities accordingly
  • Computer literate; proficient in MS Office products (Word, Excel, etc.)
  • Familiar with Great Plains or similar service/parts/rental management software, strongly preferred
  • Some travel will be required, estimated to be approximately 5% of the time, to visit other BCEW territories for sales blitzes, training, factory visits, or regional meetings etc.
  • Employee must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds
  • This position requires regular driving to job sites, the ability to move around uneven ground, climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl to assess job sites and equipment needs.

As a BCEW team member, you will enjoy a total compensation package that includes competitive pay and benefits:

  • The pay range for this position is $60,000 - $65,000 base salary, plus commissions (expected to be $30,000 – $40,000 per year), as well as a monthly vehicle allowance. Additional on-call pay of $100 per week will be paid for on-call weeks.
