Summary

The Service Technician, through exceptional technical support and customer service, is responsible for the assembling, installing, troubleshooting, and repairing of electrical and pneumatic circuits utilized in paper and liquid dispensers. This position also supports the sales function by servicing and maintaining industrial cleaning equipment in a timely and profitable manner.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty and responsibility satisfactorily.

• Perform highly diversified duties and utilize mechanical skills to install, assemble, test, repair, and maintain paper dispensers.
• Provide emergency/unscheduled and scheduled repairs of dispensing systems, sometimes during overnight hours.
• Read and interpret equipment manuals and work orders to perform required maintenance and service.
• Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments
• Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties
• Detect faulty operations, defective material and report those and any unusual situations to proper supervision
• Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas
• Additional duties, as assigned

Required Education and/or Experience

• High School Diploma or GED
• Prefer college or trade school diploma with emphasis in industrial or automotive maintenance
• Three (3) years of experience relative to maintenance troubleshooting
• ASE certification preferred

While appropriate safety gear and procedures are in place, the working environment for this position is a warehouse with exposure to toxic and non-toxic fumes, noxious odors, dust, chemicals, extreme temperatures, humidity, and elevated noise levels.

• Ability to stand, bend, crouch, stoop extended periods of time.
• Manual dexterity to operate the tools and equipment needed. For mechanical repairs and maintenance.
• Ability to consistently lift 20-50 pounds.
• Ability to occasionally lift 50-100 pounds with assistance.
• The ability to listen to and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences which includes the ability to understand and hear the speech of another person.
• The ability to communicate information and ideas in speaking and writing so others will understand.
• The ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer).
• The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong. It does not involve solving the problem, only recognizing there is a problem.

Other Requirements

• A valid driver’s license and the ability to safely operate a truck and trailer.
• This position requires travel across the state of Kentucky. Occasionally, overnight travel may be needed.
• May be required to attend and participate in professional development activities outside the office to stay abreast of new developments and best practices.
• May be required to work extended or weekend hours in an emergency or project specific situation.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.21 - $24.34 per hour
