About this role

What will you do?

The Inside Sales Account Manager is a player-coach responsible for leading the Inside Sales team to establish and maintain relationships with customers to facilitate business growth and profitability. In addition, the Inside Sales Account Manager will manage accounts and/or product line(s) to align with critical sales activities.

Critical results

  • Prepare accurate sales forecasts to assist the company in making sound business decisions
  • Collaborate with Marketing to ensure the inside sales team has quality leads to pursue
  • Evaluate sales practices and procedures to determine whether they are effective in generating sales and adjust as necessary
  • Recruit, onboard, and train new Inside Sales team members
  • Lead by example by demonstrating top-notch sales skills and strategies
  • Monitor sales metrics and set benchmarks for individual and team success
  • Identify skills gaps and areas that need improvement
  • Develop or source training programs to help enhance the teams’ sales skills as well as your own
  • Provide ongoing training, resources, and tools to support the teams’ growth

Responsibilities

  • Address and resolve customer complaints that are escalated to the manager level
  • Motivate the inside sales team to achieve their sales targets
  • Develop and maintain an effective step-by-step process of nurturing leads and closing sales
  • Utilize market analysis tools to determine customer behavior, market trends, and competitor activity
  • Communicate with Sales on any product issues and requests their involvement on situations that requirement immediate action and/or resolution
  • Identify skills gaps and areas that need improvement
  • Develop or source training programs to help enhance the teams’ sales skills as well as your own
  • Provide ongoing training, resources, and tools to support the teams’ growth

About You

Education / Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing, business administration, business management, or related field and/or experience required
  • Previous experience in a sales leadership position with excellent leadership skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams, and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software
  • Familiarity with Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software

  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, and ability to adapt communication style to the audience
  • Good judgment and professionalism when dealing with customers, suppliers, and internal team members
