BAR K JOB DESCRIPTION — Bartender

Bar K is a unique destination combining a thoughtfully designed dog park with a modern bar, restaurant and coffeehouse, Bar K brings engaged, community minded dog lovers and their dogs together to share connections with their pups and each other in a smart, creative space.

Bar K’s mission is to create a unique, one-of-a-kind social, recreational and educational experience for people and dogs in Kansas City.

Job Summary:

Bar K is looking for a highly motivated, talented and organized person to work as a part-time (mostly weekend) bartender, starting at approximately 10 hours per week with significant opportunity for additional responsibility as the business grows.

Job Description:

• Deliver a consistently high level of customer service to each client
• Keep bar area clean in accordance with the company’s guidelines as well as regulatory requirements
• Maintain an accurate cash drawer throughout the night and be able to account for any and all discrepancies in the final drawer tally
• Prepare all drinks based on the serving sizes as outlined by the company to keep drink costs at targeted levels
• Develop an efficient work pace that keeps customers at the bar satisfied at all times

Skills and Background Requirements:

• High school diploma/GED required
• Valid, current KCMO liquor card
• 2 years’ experience working as a bartender
• Certification as a mixologist from a reputable bartending school preferred
• Must be able to lift 20 pound boxes and stand for an 8-hour shift
• Strong customer service and interpersonal communications skills required
• Weekend availability
• And, of course — Must Love Dogs!!

This position will report directly to Bar K’s Managing Partners. Compensation will begin at $10/hr plus bar tips
