Summary of Responsibilities

The vice president of corporate marketing and communications is responsible for leading the corporate marketing and communications team, and:

  • Developing and implementing comprehensive projects, programs, and activities that enhance Avenue5’s reputation and brand awareness and highlight Avenue5’s competitive advantages as a service provider and employer
  • Overseeing the creation and deployment of marketing and communications tools, resources, and protocols to streamline processes
  • Analyzing marketing and communications-related data and implementing enhancements accordingly
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure the timely, quality, and accurate delivery of marketing and communications initiatives
  • Conceptualizing and facilitating the execution of corporate events
  • Leading and mentoring the corporate marketing and communications team

Primary Responsibilities and Objectives

  • Develop strategic plans for associate and client marketing and communications campaigns in alignment with Avenue5’s goals
  • Make recommendations for the continuous improvement of marketing and communications programs
  • Oversee content creation and enhancement processes for the corporate website, corporate intranet, ads, brochures, blog posts, social media posts, video and presentation scripts, digital presentations, executive and all-company communications, case studies, RFP templates, company talking points, and industry publications
  • Partner with executive team leaders as an internal subject matter expert to define internal communications objectives, handle crisis communications, surmount communication challenges, advise on appropriate communication channels and target audiences, and ensure timely and consistent delivery of messaging
  • Liaise with the human resources, legal, and risk management teams, among others, to analyze possible courses of communication action, along with their related potential risks
  • Manage all media relations functions, including crafting press releases, monitoring the performance of press releases, maintaining press contact lists, networking with publications, and issuing approved media statements
  • Administer corporate intranet, including overseeing the content strategy, conducting quality assurance analysis on site pages, and collaborating with corporate groups on the creation of new content areas
  • Maintaining and refreshing corporate writing and branding standards as needed, and monitoring associate compliance with those standards on an ongoing basis, including providing approvals for all third-party use of corporate branding elements
  • Managing corporate website, including updating content, improving UI/UX, enhancing SEO, reporting on quarterly and year-over-year Google Analytics performance metrics, and partnering with third-party suppliers on website-related services
  • Execute internal and email campaigns, including crafting a content strategy, developing targeted email lists, and creating analytics reports for each campaign
  • Lead corporate survey program to gather and analyze internal and external stakeholder insights and recommend appropriate courses of action based on findings
  • Spearhead Avenue5’s corporate events strategy
  • Own the marketing and communications, and event budgets, measure qualitative and quantitative targets and present budget reports and milestones to the executive team
  • Hire, manage, and coach corporate marketing associates

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, marketing, business, English, or a related field
  • At least seven years of progressive experience in leading marketing and communications programs at a senior level; experience in multifamily or real estate a plus
  • Experience in handling crisis communications incidents
  • Demonstrated ability to proactively build critical cross-functional relationships to execute marketing and communications campaigns
  • Experience in successfully executing integrated marketing campaigns at scale, analyzing their performance, and making changes as needed
  • Exemplary written and verbal communications skills
  • Exceptional project management skills
  • Keen attention to detail and eye for consistency and quality
  • Demonstrated track record of proactively sourcing and implementing technologies to enhance marketing and communications initiative performance
  • Experience developing, managing, and working with a geographically distributed team
