Description

• Design and implement new network solutions and/or improve the efficiency of current networks.
• Install, configure and support network equipment including routers, switches, load balancers, VPN devices and firewalls.
• Configure, implement, maintain, and monitor WLAN equipment and related services.
• Maximize network performance through ongoing monitoring and troubleshooting.
• Define, document, and enforce system standards.
• Arrange scheduled upgrades.
• Coordinate changes as needed with third party vendors.
• Update network equipment to the latest stable firmware releases.
• Investigate faults in the network.
• Provide level 2 support and troubleshooting to resolve issues.
• Undertake capacity management and auditing of IP addressing and hosted devices within data centers.
• Lead assigned projects of a technical nature through completion. Work may involve multiple teams.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Basic Requirements:

• In depth implementation and troubleshooting experience of networks using concepts/protocols such as BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, MPLS VPNs and emerging concepts such as Software Defined Networking.
• Experience with LAN and datacenter technologies such as Ethernet, Spanning Tree Protocol, First Hop Redundancy protocols.
• Solid understanding of the OSI or TCP/IP model.
• Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic and network analytics tools.
• Working knowledge of networking fundamentals such as network protocols and common services (e.g., DNS, FTP, SSH, SNMP).
• Good communication skills, both written and verbal are required.

Experience: Five years to eight years of similar or related experience.

Education: BA/BS degree in computer science, management information systems, or equivalent demonstrated work experience required.
