AUSTIN SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA is Hiring a Patron Services Associate Near Austin, TX

Job Summary:
An integral part of the Austin Symphony Orchestra’s profile in the community, the Patron Services Associate is responsible for handling ticket transactions for all events and performances, maintaining accurate data about patrons, assuring exceptional customer service on behalf of the Symphony, managing box office volunteers and office duties assigned by the Patron Services and Ticketing Manager.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Providing exceptional customer service to patrons, resolving any issues that may arise, and ensuring a positive patron experience.
  • Selling tickets over the phone and in person in a professional, accurate, and efficient manner.
  • Maintaining accurate records of ticket sales, donations, and attendance data.
  • Coordinating with other departments, such as marketing and development, to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Handling cash and credit card transactions accurately and securely.
  • Assisting with the preparation of box office performance and revenue reports.
  • Managing ticket inventory and ensuring that ticket orders are fulfilled accurately and promptly.
  • Maintaining a thorough knowledge of the orchestra’s repertoire, concerts, and events.
  • Processing and preparing batch prints of tickets for mailing.
  • Reviewing and processing ticket donation requests and complimentary ticket requests.
  • Coordinating, scheduling, and managing the box office.
  • Working in the box office at all Symphony concerts.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Patron Services and Box Office Manager and Marketing Director.

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree or higher preferred.
  • Minimum of one-to-two years’ experience in Patron Services & Box Office preferred.
  • Facility for cultivating strong interpersonal relationships.
  • Outstanding oral communication skills.
  • Excellent decision-making, priority setting and handling of challenges; impeccable follow-through.
  • Exceptional reporting and record-keeping skills; easily manages and tracks multiple projects at different stages; superior attention to detail.
  • Computer literacy; Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, & Outlook); experience in ticketing software Tessitura a plus
  • Team player with the ability to also work independently with little supervision.
  • Desire to continuously learn and increase effectiveness as a professional; ability to offer and receive constructive feedback; willingness to be flexible and to go above and beyond.
  • Experience in the performing arts field a plus.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.65 per hour

Expected hours: 37.5 per week
