Position Profile

Weaver’s Risk Advisory Services practice is looking for an Associate to join their growing team! The RAS Associate is responsible for execution of audit procedures and completion of engagement objectives. They will take ownership of small projects under the supervision of more experienced team members, while documenting and issuing reports. The RAS Associate is curious, enthusiastic, and demonstrates a willingness to learn on a continual basis. The ideal candidate will have the ability to establish trust with the client, and maintain good working relationships and communication with client personnel and teammates. 

The Associate will begin to develop an understanding of technical accounting literature within the GAAP and SEC hierarchies and is able to research issues and provide management with updates. They will learn and execute documentation in assigned areas using the Committee of Sponsoring Organizations (COSO) internal control framework; and begin to demonstrate a familiarity with the Institute of Internal Audit (IIA) standards and the International Professional Practices Framework (IPPF). The ideal candidate is deadline oriented, has strong interpersonal skills, and maintains professionalism. Education and Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or related field
• Master’s degree in Accounting, or related field is preferred
• CPA, CPA candidate, CIA or CIA candidate (CPA preferred)
• 0-2 years of public accounting experience and/or industry experience (internal audit and/or staff accountant responsibilities)
• Basic understanding of GAAP, GAAS, IIA standards
• Team orientation and strong interpersonal skills
• Ability to learn quickly and adapt to a fluid working environment
