PRIMARY FUNCTION

The Senior Accountant role is responsible for creating and maintaining records of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liability, or other financial activities within parent company legal entity structure. Maintain general ledger as needed. Analyze financial data in order to prepare financial reports. Generate and interpret financial records and statements for management.

PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. General ledger entry, reconciliation, and auditing.
2. Verify the accuracy of sales tax billing and reporting.
3. Review, prepare, and distribute periodic financial reporting.
4. Examine accounting records, including financial statements and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness and conformance to standards defined within the department.
5. Report out to the Accounting Manager regarding the finances of the organization.
6. Review and analyze gross profit reports.
7. Develop and implement proper processes and procedures for the keeping of financial records, making use of current technologies.
8. Create forms and manuals for accounting personnel.
9. Work well independently or within the team to problem solve issues and accomplish tasks and goals.
10. Provide support and service to both internal and external customers in a courteous, professional, customer service-oriented manner.
11. Participate in quality/continuous improvement activities within individual job function, the accounting department and the company.

• INTERNAL: Interacts with sales and project teams to resolve issues with general ledger, and other exception transactions as they occur.
• EXTERNAL: Interacts with external vendors to resolve issues relating to banking, sales tax remittance, licensing, or statements.

Requirements

MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS

• 4-year degree in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience
• Strong experience with Excel
• Good problem-solving skills

• A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
