The Minnesota employee base is currently remote and expects to transition to a hybrid work environment in the western suburbs within the next 6-12 months. We are looking for a finance/accounting professional that is willing to learn on the job, apply their knowledge to refine processes, and develop best practices in a growing business.

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Accountant to join our team. As an Accountant, you will be responsible for managing financial records, performing financial analysis, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles. This is a key role within our organization, and we are looking for someone who is detail-oriented, analytical, and has a strong understanding of financial management.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain financial records, including general ledger accounts, balance sheets, and profit and loss statement
• Process payroll and oversee cash management
• Maintain general ledger and production of financial statements
• Journal Entry preparation and assist with month end process and reporting (including financial analytic models)
• Participate in the budgeting process by gathering data and providing analysis
• Manage IBNR along with maintaining related files
• Oversee policy complinance and enter employee expense reports into the accounting system
• Build, generate and distribute custom reports
• Compile reports, charts, or graphs that describe and interpret the findings of analyses.
• Daily monitoring of the bank accounts and treasury management
• Maintain and update contracts and rates in both database and binders
• Provide application support to billing, accounting, compliance, and other departments
• Review, evaluate, and investigate claims data carefully and thoroughly, comparing them with contracts, and prepare dispute reports monthly
• Ad hoc analysis and other duties as assigned

Qualifications

• Accounting software experience, preferably QuickBooks and/or NetSuite
• Strong computer skills – Excel and PowerPoint, Concur, Salesforce
• Strong aptitude for figures
• Ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively with a team of individuals.
• Ability to coordinate multiple tasks and projects
• Ability to work independently with little supervision
• Experience with client interaction preferred
• Desire to work as a team member and take on evolving responsibilities
• Driven with a proven ability to produce results
• Good listening skills, fast learner, and willingness to learn new things
• Healthcare experience preferred but not required
• Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent experience

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $60,000.00 per year
