Responsibilities:

As our Phlebotomy Technician, your primary responsibilities will comprise the following:

  • Conducting venipunctures and capillary punctures following universal precautions, ensuring patient safety.
  • Effectively identifying patients and correctly labeling specimens.
  • Collecting appropriate volume and type of sample for the requested tests and ensuring prompt delivery to the laboratory.
  • Interacting with patients, medical staff, and other team members in a professional and cordial manner.
  • Carrying out standard procedures for infection control.
  • Monitoring supply inventory to maintain optimal levels, replenishing as needed.
  • Following federal, state, and local regulations, in addition to organization’s policies and procedures.
  • Ensuring patient confidentiality by strictly adhering to HIPAA regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Excellent patient service skills, able to communicate kindly and effectively with patients and medical staff.
  • Knowledge of basic medical terminology.
  • Skilled in the use of a computer and associated software.
  • Able to work flexible hours, including potential evening and weekend shifts.
  • Must possess a current BLS for Healthcare Providers Certification.
  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of a state-approved PCT training program.
  • Clean criminal background record/able to undergo background check
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
