Responsibilities

  • Collecting blood samples from patients using safe and sterile techniques, while adhering to infection control protocols.
  • Correctly identifying patients and labeling specimens accurately according to established procedures.
  • Maintaining and organizing supplies to ensure all necessary materials are available during blood draws.
  • Documenting and updating patient information in electronic health records (EHR) systems accurately and promptly.
  • Collaborating effectively with healthcare professionals to ensure smooth coordination of patient services.
  • Delivering collected specimens to the laboratory for further processing and analysis.
  • Participating in ongoing training and educational opportunities to stay current with best practices in phlebotomy.

Requirements

  • At least 18 years old and above
  • Understanding of and commitment to ensuring patient confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including occasional weekends or evenings as needed.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and team members.
