Company Overview
Veseris is a Private Equity backed specialty chemical distribution company, seeking an experienced accountant to join the accounting team at our office headquarters in Austin, TX. This position will be in-office, reporting to the Accounting Supervisor/Accounting Manager, and will have the opportunity to work and lead a team of highly motivated professionals. This person will be involved in key projects and will be a key player in the month-end close process, financial reporting, and annual audits.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Closing Procedures: Lead month-end and year-end close processes, including the preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, variance analysis and financial reporting.
2. General Ledger Management: Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
3. Audit Support: Collaborate with external auditors during the annual audit process, ensuring compliance and providing necessary documentation.
4. Compliance: Stay abreast of changes in accounting regulations and ensure the company's financial practices comply with relevant laws and regulations.
5. Process Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and efficiency enhancements within the finance function.
6. Team Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, providing financial insights and support for decision-making.
7. Time Management: Maintain a track record successfully managing multiple projects simultaneously while continuing to meet routine deadlines.
8. Lead: Provide guidance and mentorship to accounting staff, fostering a positive and collaborative team environment.
Requirements
Qualifications:
1. Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA or CPA Candidate requirement.
2. Diverse background with at least 5 years of public and full-cycle accounting.
3. Thorough understanding of GAAP, with ability to summarize proper accounting treatment and processes as well as understanding of IFRS.
4. Proficient in Microsoft Excel; experience with D365 is a plus.
5. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
7. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
8. Attention to detail and accuracy are critical.
9. Inventory and cost accounting experience is a plus.
