Manager, Business Development - Door Hardware and Electronic Access Control

LocationEast Coast: Must be living within a commutable distance from a major city/airport (may be based out of but not limited to the following locations: New York, NY / Philadelphia, PA / Charlotte, Raleigh/Durham - NC / Washington DC / Arlington, VA / Orlando, Tampa, Miami - FL / Atlanta, GA / New Haven, CT / Boston, MA)

Reports to: Director, Security Professionals

Are you passionate about working with an elite group of Door Hardware and Electronic Access Control Security Professionals, Medeco Security Centers (MSC) and Locksmiths? Are you a person who loves to be challenged? Do you enjoy discovering and developing new business opportunities, meeting with partners and fostering trusted relationships? Are you a collaborative person focused on a strategic high growth sector of the door hardware & access control industry? If so, you may be a good candidate for ASSA ABLOY’s Business Development Manager for Security Professionals.

ASSA ABLOY is a worldwide leader dedicated to providing safe, secure, and accessible building environments together with our partner communities. 

Key areas you will contribute in this role include:

  • Execution and management of the Security Professionals channel to include loyalty and incentive programs that drive behavior.
  • Development of strategic business plans, sales forecasts and the implementation of tactical action plans.
  • Extensive customer interaction with key influencers to drive growth, loyalty and competitive displacement.
  • Meet or exceed sales forecasts and effectively manage the sales cycle.
  • Effectively articulate the ASSA ABLOY value proposition and sell the complete product solutions portfolio.
  • Familiarity with key vertical markets of Education, Healthcare, Government, Fortune 500 & Multi-Family.
  • Provide market intelligence and Voice of Customer (VOC) feedback.
  • Influence, manage and drive accountability of people without having direct authority over them.
  • Work with the Director of Security Professionals and Local ASSA ABLOY DSS territories to effectively penetrate markets and develop sales plans.

What you will be doing

You will actively call on, educate, provide sales support and build ASSA ABLOY’s portfolio of market leading brands. Discover, develop, manage and grow sales to the Security Professional community. 

What we are looking for

You are a self-motivated, well-organized individual with the ability to become a trusted advisor to customers. You have extensive experience in door hardware/electronic access control/physical security industry, and are known for your professional follow-up habits - driven to satisfy the client's needs to deliver at and above expectations. You’re a strong communicator, a confident technology and sales presenter, an active listener, and a solutions negotiator. College/University degree (preferred) with affiliations and interaction with key industry associations (ALOA, ASIS, DHI, SIA etc). You have the ability to travel upon request (minimum of 50% travel) and able to effectively perform your responsibilities in a home office environment. You must have the ability to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. of sample and display material for in-person sale presentations.

This position includes a base salary, annual bonus potential, competitive benefits package and company car.
