Reports to: Registered Nurse or Home Health Care Manager

Position Overview:
As a Home Health Aide at Aspen Home Health, you will provide crucial care and support to our patients in their homes, helping them to maintain their independence and enhance their quality of life. This role involves assisting with daily activities, providing basic medical care, and ensuring the safety and comfort of patients who are elderly, disabled, or recovering from illnesses or injuries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist patients with daily personal tasks, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming.
  • Help patients with their mobility needs, including assisting with walking and transferring from bed to wheelchair.
  • Perform healthcare-related tasks under the supervision of a registered nurse, such as monitoring vital signs and administering oral medications as directed.
  • Provide companionship to patients, keeping them mentally healthy and engaged with conversation, reading, and other activities.
  • Prepare meals according to specific dietary needs and assist with feeding, if necessary.
  • Perform light housekeeping tasks, such as cleaning and organizing patient areas and laundering clothes and bedding.
  • Observe the patient’s condition and report any significant changes to the nursing staff.
  • Adhere to all safety guidelines and regulatory requirements.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent. A training certificate from a vocational school or community college as a Home Health Aide is highly preferred.
  • Proven working experience as a Home Health Aide.
  • Familiarity with basic nutrition and personal hygiene standards.
  • Proficiency in English; bilingual abilities may be a plus.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Compassionate and able to handle stress.
  • Physical stamina and the ability to perform medium to heavy physical tasks.

Licenses/Certifications:

  • CPR and First Aid certification.
  • State certification as a Home Health Aide, if required by state regulations.
