This position pays up to $47,800

GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES

Through supervision of caregiving staff and Assistant Administrator (if applicable), this position is directly responsible for quality control in the profitable delivery of Ashley Manor resident care products and services, leading employees while maintaining the integrity of the company and maintaining a healthy, safe, friendly, and home-like environment for residents, families, staff, and external agencies. Performs related duties as required.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

In each state the frequency of these requirements may differ based on regulations, such as very limited direct care, cooking, and cleaning in Oregon, all are still essential functions of the job.

  • Provide leadership, training, direction, and development opportunities to staff by participating in hiring, promoting company loyalty and success, setting clear expectations and goals, and following the disciplinary process if necessary; direct staff in daily responsibilities;

· Assist residents with activities of daily living (ADL’s) including grooming, hygiene, dressing, clothing cleanliness, perineal care, showering or baths, nail care, shaving, eating, ambulating, medications, toileting including incontinence care, daily activities, turning and positioning residents, etc., which requires lifting up to 35 pounds;

  • Develop and maintain relationships with residents, families, staff, and outside agencies; and ensure customer satisfaction by effectively handle complaints, grievances and concerns

· Using therapies and techniques to prevent and improve resident behaviors;

  • Assist with debt collection and payment of debts;
  • Review monthly financial statements and operational budget performance including census, staffing hours, expenses; report exceptions and implement improvement plans;
  • Partner with Senior Care Advisor(s) to promote the facility and products, determine appropriate candidates for admission, generate referrals and follow referral process; maintain the marketability of the facility and ensure tour-readiness;
  • Coordinate maintenance and other facility needs with maintenance staff;
  • Considering resident diets, cost-effectively plan and shop for groceries and other supplies;
  • Keeping records, charting, medications, and recording resident activities; accurate and timely completing of reports (census, financial, employee paperwork, etc.) on time.

ADDITIONAL EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED

· Participate in the development and implementation of strategic plans to increase efficiency, growth and profitability;

· Responsible for the safety of all people in the facility, may assign a Safety Officer to assist;

  • Develop and maintain relationships with State Surveyors and resident health care providers;
  • As necessary, perform the work required in any of the positions supervised such as cooking, cleaning, housekeeping, etc.;
  • May transport residents, as needed;
  • Perform related duties as required.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

· Must be at least 21 years of age;

· Administrator License or Certificate for applicable state preferred;

· A minimum of 1 year of experience in health care or a related field; 2 years in Oregon;

· Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) preferred;

· Certifications in First Aid, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR), and medications required;

· Previous supervisory experience preferred;

· Knowledge of state rules, regulations, fire codes and other safety practices;

· Knowledge of all residents rights, including the right to be free of restraints and abuse;

· Knowledge of purchasing and budgeting procedures, and financial statements;

· Ability to use office equipment such as computers, printers, fax machines, email;

· Ability to use computer programs such as email, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel;

· Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships;

· Ability to supervise and motivate staff;

· Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing;

· Ability to maintain confidentiality of employee and facility issues and records.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

· Complete continuing education required by the state licensing agency and in leadership, communication, management, and related areas;

· GED or high school diploma required;

· Must pass a criminal background check;

· Must possess valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and personal automobile insurance;

  • This position is subject to pre-employment and random drug testing.

WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL DEMANDS

· Work is performed both in an office and a health services environment and requires sufficient mobility and physical reflexes to perform in both environments;

· Must be able to lift up to thirty-five (35) pounds unassisted;

· May be required to work irregular hours including nights, weekends, and on-call availability;

· May be required to travel for meetings, trainings, or to support other facilities.
