The Partnerships Marketing Manager is responsible for making an impact on our business – from nurturing existing partnerships with affiliates and campus organizations to optimizing channels to drive demand within our cost of acquisition targets. The Partnerships Marketing Manage reports directly to the Vice President of Demand Generation and Partnerships. Our ideal candidate would:
  • Have a positive attitude and enjoy working with others – especially meeting regularly with partners while recommending new initiatives to drive growth and optimization across channels.
  • Be detail-oriented and diligent to manage 30 partners and be able to clearly identify unique opportunities to expand each partner.

  • Enjoy collaborating internally and externally, driving strong growth through successful marketing strategies rooted in data.
  • Be comfortable in an analytics-driven environment. We like numbers. You like tracking performance to monitor and optimize lead pipeline and conversion funnels.
  • Enjoy leveraging data from our analytics platforms (GA4 and Tableau) to tell a story and provide weekly insights to inform the team of KPI trends with clear takeaways and a plan of action on how to further optimize these partners/funnels.
Responsibilities (including, but not limited to):
  • Own all facets of the Ascent partner pipeline - Onboard new partners and then establish and maintain strong relationships with partners.
    • Lead monthly partner meetings.
    • Host bi-annual business reviews with key partners (working with Ascent’s analytics team).
    • Maintain our cost of acquisition targets while collaborating with accounting, analytics, and partners for monthly invoicing.
  • Planning, alignment, budgeting and executing partner campaigns.
    • Collaborate with our PPC agency for managing Google AdWords/Bing.
    • Own our PPC and affiliate channels through EverFlow and Commission Junction.
    • Work cross functionally with internal and external creative teams for copy/design assets.
  • Drive demand and optimize our Ascent partner traffic by identifying and sourcing new campaigns as well as ways to increase the conversion funnel.
  • Monitor competitive landscape and assess trends/seasonality in campaigns.
  • Gain a deep knowledge of Ascent’s products and services.
Qualities we look for in our candidates:
  • 4 years of managerial experience negotiating and growing partnerships or clients (or equivalent).
  • Passion for building and maintaining relationships through excellent communication.
  • Passion for managing digital campaigns and acquiring customers through partnerships.
  • Exceptional strategic thinking skills and experience with web analytics tools.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects at once in a fast-paced environment.
  • Proactive, growth mindset with a strong attention to detail and solution oriented.
  • Exceptional creative and project management skills.
  • General understanding of Google Analytics.
  • Candidate must reside in the United States to be considered for this role.

Bonus points if you have:
  • Experience using affiliate platforms (like Commission Junction, Impact or equivalent).
  • Experience with student loans or financial services/products.
  • Experience with testing platforms (Convert), Microsoft Clarity (or equivalent platform).
  • Google Analytics or AdWords certifications.
  • Experience with SEM Rush.
  • Live in Southern California and can work in a hybrid capacity.
Competitive pay with bonus, and comprehensive benefits package that includes, but not limited to:
  • This position will have a pay range (commensurate with experience) of $90,000 - $120,000 annually, plus bonus.
