Our client is experiencing rapid growth and is seeking a qualified payroll assistant with basic HR knowledge to provide support for the payroll and HR functions.

The ideal candidate will have three to five years of full cycle experience in payroll, has a passion in Human Resources field, and is looking to join a fast-paced organization.

The position is based in Secaucus, NJ

Essential Functions (include but are not limited to) :

• Process weekly payroll using Paycom, a hire to retire solution.
• Good understanding of payroll taxes and withholdings.
• Maintain accurate attendance records, including sick, personal, and vacation days.
• Ensures a smooth onboarding process for new hires including pre-employment, and application tracking via Paycom.
• Submit unemployment and FMLA paperwork and maintain records.
• Assist in ACA compliance.
• Assist in managing workman compensation claims and follow up with adjuster.
• Performs general administrative functions including, but not limited to, maintaining employee files, processing required forms and worksheets, maintaining, forms, and documents.
• Works with the highest degree of integrity when dealing with confidential information.

Qualifications :

• Must have a bachelor’s degree.
• Highly proficient in Excel including Pivot Tables, V-Lookups & other advanced functions.
• Experience with a payroll processor i.e., ADP, Paychex etc.
• Excellent communication skills (oral and written).
• Attention to detail and accuracy and critical thinking ability
• Motivated self-starter with roll-up-the-sleeves with good work ethics.
• An ability to prioritize, and work within strict time frame and adhere to deadlines
