Arizona is Hiring a Research Scientist in Psychology (Researcher/Scientist III) Near Tucson, AZ
Duties and Responsibilities:
Design, organize, manage and carry out research on service dogs for veterans and other human-animal interaction research projects
Conduct data analysis and report writing
Oversee day-to-day operation of research study and supervise other research and support personnel. This may include:
Mentoring undergraduate and graduate students
Fostering and maintaining an inclusive, productive working environment
Maintaining systems to oversee and coordinate day-to-day tasks, providing guidance and troubleshooting
Motivating team members through guidance and support
Lead publication and dissemination efforts of study findings
Actively participate in acquiring and maintaining research funding, including working on writing grant proposals and funder reports
Contribute to ensuring regulatory compliance of the research program by coordinating with granting agencies and regulators including the Institutional Review Board (IRB), Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC), and Data Safety and Monitoring Board (DSMB)
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to guide, supervise, and support students and staff
Ability to work independently on complex projects requiring problem solving
Knowledge of, and ability, to conduct research project management
Develop and carry out experimental protocols (e.g., clinical trials)
Manage IRB and IACUC protocols
