Arizona is Hiring an Extended Temporary Research Scientist Near Tucson, AZ
Primary responsibilities anddesired skills include, but are not limited to:
Conduct solo and team bedrock geologic mapping as part of the STATEMAP program, sometimes in remote locations
Contribute to all stages of the geologic mapping lifecycle, including planning, fieldwork, analysis, GIS compilation, and publication of maps and their associated reports
Contribute to and lead scientific projects that complement AZGS’s mission
Conceive and write proposals for external funding with UA and external partners
Develop and foster collaborative relationships with AZGS scientists, other UA researchers, private-sector industries, regulatory agencies, stakeholders, Arizona tribes, and other academic institutions
Communicate with staff of varying technical knowledge and with non-scientific stakeholders
Strong written communication and analytical skills
