Primary responsibilities anddesired skills include, but are not limited to:

• Conduct solo and team bedrock geologic mapping as part of the STATEMAP program, sometimes in remote locations
• Contribute to all stages of the geologic mapping lifecycle, including planning, fieldwork, analysis, GIS compilation, and publication of maps and their associated reports
• Contribute to and lead scientific projects that complement AZGS’s mission
• Conceive and write proposals for external funding with UA and external partners
• Develop and foster collaborative relationships with AZGS scientists, other UA researchers, private-sector industries, regulatory agencies, stakeholders, Arizona tribes, and other academic institutions
• Communicate with staff of varying technical knowledge and with non-scientific stakeholders
• Strong written communication and analytical skills
• Author peer-reviewed scientific papers and publications
