Arizona Liver Health is Hiring a Manager, 340B Program Operations (or Senior Manager) Near Chandler, AZ

Job Summary: As the Manager, 340B Program Operations at Arizona Liver Health, you will be responsible for ensuring comprehensive compliance with the 340B Drug Pricing Program. This role involves overseeing all aspects of our participation in the program, including adherence to regulatory requirements, operational efficiency, and financial integrity. You will also play a key role in leveraging data analytics to optimize program performance and maximize benefits.

Responsible for retrieving usable data from Pharmacy’s computer programs for budgeting, auditing, and reviewing purposes. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of the intricacies of the 340B program, strong analytical capabilities, and the ability to collaborate effectively across internal stakeholders.

This role can be Remote in the US with preference for candidates in locations where we are already registered to do business and have existing employees: Arizona, Texas, Florida, and Ohio

Salary range:The budgeted range for this role is $110k-$140k, depending on qualifications and experience.

  • Generates summary sheets for use by supervisor or auditor
  • Proofs accounting reports for clerical accuracy
  • Allocates expenditures to correct accounts according to departmental procedures
  • Foster an environment of trust and collaboration

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Required:

Regulatory Compliance: Develop, implement, and maintain policies and procedures to ensure compliance with all federal regulations and guidelines governing the 340B program. 

Accounting & Financial Integrity: Ensure the accurate tracking, reporting, and reconciliation of 340B drug purchases and utilization, working closely with the finance department to maintain financial integrity and transparency. Develops and routinely monitors monthly and annual reports.

Quality Compliance: Uses continuous quality improvement methodology to improve work processes. Ensures compliance with all federal, state, and company policies and procedures.

Operational Oversight: Monitor and evaluate the operational aspects of our 340B program, including eligibility criteria, inventory management, and contract pharmacy relationships, to identify and address compliance issues proactively. Assists with operational budget planning.

Audits and Assessments: Conduct regular internal audits and assessments to evaluate compliance with 340B program requirements, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as necessary. 

Data Analytics: Utilize data analytics tools and techniques to analyze operational and financial data related to the 340B program, identifying trends, patterns, and opportunities for optimization. Use this information to review and monitor all points of service where 340(b) Drug Pricing Program and Patient Assistance Program participation occurs to ensure policies and procedures are followed accordingly.

Stakeholder Collaboration: Collaborate with internal departments, including pharmacy, finance, compliance, and clinical teams, to ensure alignment and consistency in 340B program operations and reporting. Report to stakeholders, 340(B) compliance, audit reports, and information related to finances.

Education and Training: Provide ongoing education and training to staff members on 340B program regulations, compliance requirements, and best practices, ensuring a high level of awareness and competency across the organization. 

Regulatory Updates: Stay abreast of changes and updates to 340B program regulations and guidelines, communicating relevant information to internal stakeholders and updating policies and procedures accordingly. Recommend, develop, and implement policies and procedures for pharmacy business operations and ensures processes allow for the most compliant and efficient use of resources.

Reporting and Communication: Prepare and submit required reports to regulatory agencies, auditors, and other stakeholders in a timely and accurate manner, maintaining open lines of communication and transparency. Assists with day- to day activities, establishing priorities and maintains records as needed.

External Audits and Inspections: Coordinate and facilitate external audits and inspections of our 340B program, serving as the primary point of contact and ensuring thorough preparation and compliance. 


Education, credentials, and/or trainings required:

  • Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, pharmacy, business administration, or a related field. Advanced degree preferred. 
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in healthcare and/or government program compliance, with a minimum of three (3) years specific experience in 340B program compliance. 
  • Deep understanding of 340B program regulations, guidelines, and best practices. 
  • Proficiency in data analytics tools and techniques, with experience analyzing operational and financial data. 
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex data and identify actionable insights. 
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders. 
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills. 
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. 
  • Certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) or Certified in Healthcare Privacy Compliance (CHPC) designation preferred. 
  • Experience working in a healthcare setting, preferably in a specialty clinic or hospital environment, is desirable. 

Supervisory responsibilities

  • Oversee (1) Staff Accountant to start

Physical demands

  • Able to lift at least 15 lbs.
  • Able to sit for long periods (at least 50%)
  • Able to type and do computer work for long periods

Travel Requirements

  • Some interoffice travel may be required with use of company vehicle or mileage reimbursement

Work authorization/security clearance requirements

Must have valid documentation and authorization to work in the U.S. -- visa sponsorship or transfer is not offered now or in the future
